The Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) appoints TCIA-Approved Auditor/Accreditation Consultants for businesses engaged in the accreditation process.
The TCIA Accreditation program is administered by the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) which has a membership of over 2,000 tree care companies and is built on the threefold foundation of ethics, quality, and consumer confidence.
The Accreditation credential represents the only business practices and compliance audit process in the tree care industry. Under the process, tree care businesses undergo extensive review of professional practices aimed at safeguarding consumers. The review includes: 
- best business practices
- ethical business conduct
- formal training and certification of employees
- compliance with industry standards
- consumer satisfaction
- adherence to safety standards
- insurance coverage
John Iurka, NY-01
Sound Beach, New York
TCIA-Approved Accreditation Auditor/Consultant, 2006
BACKGROUND: Mr. Iurka’s credentials include 34 years in the Tree Care Industry. Mr. Iurka started and then sold his own successful tree care company based on Long Island. His former company is still in operation today. Before his retirement, he worked a full career with the Bartlett Tree Expert Company of Stamford, Connecticut, where he served as sales representative in Southampton, New York and later as branch manager in Huntington, New York. Mr. Iurka is also a volunteer leader serving industry business groups such as Professional Certified Applicators of Long Island and Green Point of New York. His approval designation is NY-01.
Randall J. McDonald PA-01
Saxonburg, PA
TCIA-Approved Accreditation Auditor/Consultant, 2006
BACKGROUND: Mr. McDonald has been involved in the tree care industry for over 32 years. Following forestry college at Paul Smith’s College of Forestry, he learned the art and science of tree care working with The Davey Tree Expert Co. in positions from tree climber to district manager. After working with The Davey Tree Expert Co., Mr. McDonald helped pioneer the introduction and implementation of biostimulants in the tree care industry. As senior vice president for Plant Health Care Inc., he developed new markets and helped research mycorrhizal fungi – an environmentally-friendly method of maintaining and improving tree health – with the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, England, and lectured with the U.S.G.A. (United States Golf Association) in Ireland. His approval designation is PA-01.
 James R. Egenrieder PA-02
Harrisburg, PA
TCIA-Approved Accreditation Auditor/Consultant, 2006
BACKGROUND: Mr. Egenrieder's experience includes more than 40 years in computer science, system development, implementation and management. He taught computer science to graduate students at Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pa. Mr. Egenrieder also acted as a consultant to Good’s Tree Care, Inc. in Harrisburg, Pa., developing documentation for many of the business activities that led to Good’s being TCIA accredited. Mr. Egenrieder is also the President of NIOD (New Ideas, Original Dimensions) which has divisions in landscape design and consulting, computer consulting and new product development. His current volunteer activities include Penn State Master Gardener, Board member of the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation, Member of the Pennsylvania Nut Growers Association and Advisor to West Hanover Township . His approval designation is PA-02.
