Education

Professional development is instrumental to your crew’s success and your company’s future. TCIA’s training programs and safety resources provide your crew with essential knowledge that empowers your team to think on their feet, work efficiently and communicate effectively, resulting in fewer accidents on the job site and increased production.

TCIA Credentialing Programs

TCIA offers a variety of educational opportunities for arborists to advance their knowledge, skills and careers. Our training programs fall under three categories:

Employer Credentialing Programs

Qualifications

Certifications

Our programs offer flexibility for learning through a mixture of home-study manuals, half- and full-day workshops and focused trainings. Many of these programs offer Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Accident Brief Database

TCIA collects accident briefs which are taken from published reports or are reported directly to TCIA staff. The Accident Brief Database allows you to sort briefs by topic to focus your tailgate safety meetings.

By discussing accident briefs with your crew at tailgate meetings, this will help to remind employees of how critical safety is in the tree care industry, and that accidents can happen to anyone – even seasoned employees.

Tree-Care Fatality & Near-Miss Alerts

Sign up for TCIA’s Tree-Care Fatality & Near-Miss Alerts. This email is sent most Monday mornings and includes a list of fatality and accident incidents that are directly related to commercial tree care. The summaries (and links) in this email are intended to help you facilitate safety awareness and training.
