The Arborist Safety
Training Institute (ASTI), launched by the Tree Care Industry
Association Foundation (TCIAF) in 2013, seeks to provide affordable
safety training and educational opportunities for tree care companies
Without the resources to hire a safety and training coordinator, many
tree care companies cannot effectively use the many valuable training
tools available within the industry. ASTI workshops aim to make
awareness of best safety practices more accessible for all companies.
This job and safety training not only benefits the individual
companies, but also minimizes consequent deaths and injuries, and
promotes overall workforce safety that is critical for the tree care
TCIAF accepts grant applications on a rolling basis to fund a variety
of safety training workshops, encompassing specialties such as chipper
operator basics, felling, rigging, chain saw safety, aerial lift
operation and aerial rescue, and many other safety training disciplines.
Funds for these grants are donated by tree care companies, suppliers
and distributors from around the country. These donors are making an
investment in the future of safety throughout the tree care industry.
