Attend the TCI EXPO Welcome Reception at the NASCAR Hall of Fame
This year’s Welcome Reception is going to be a truly unique treat! We’re gathering in Charlotte’s NASCAR Hall of Fame for an evening of networking and complimentary hot and cold hors d’oeuvres with a cash bar. You'll also get access to a high-tech venue that allows you to experience NASCAR up close and personal.
Entrance to the NASCAR Hall of Fame usually costs $18, but TCI EXPO attendees and exhibitors get in for free during the Welcome Reception! Just don’t forget your TCI EXPO badge – you’ll need that to get in.
Check out the cars up close by visiting Glory Road, or watch the history of NASCAR unfold in the High Octane Theatre. You can visit their website to see a full list of attractions, exhibits, shopping and dining options, and more.
Brush up on history at TCIA’s 75th Anniversary Museum
TCIA is turning 75 this year! To celebrate, we’ve put together a one-of-a-kind museum that chronicles our history – and showcases the development of the tree care industry. This anniversary serves as a way to honor our organization, to reflect on the volunteer members who oversaw its growth, and to salute the current members who act as stewards for its ongoing legacy.
To preview the 75th Museum collection, visit our online gallery here. Or better yet, stop by at TCI EXPO to see it in person this week!
TCI EXPO is one of the best places to check out new equipment and other tools of the trade, many of which you can purchase at trade show only prices! For example, check out some of the products from All Gear, Inc. that will be making their debut this week:

Need a slightly different product for your tree care crew? Terex Environmental Equipment (TEE) is also launching brand-new products at TCI EXPO. “We have really focused the last 12 months on listening to what our customers want and need,” said Philippa Fisher, Business Development and Marketing Director for TEE. “This has led to a rapid expansion in the breadth of our product portfolio.”
TAC 720. This product, featured in the photo on the left, is a 13” capacity towable drum style chipper. The 18” wide by 13” high in feed opening allows materials with multiple limbs and branches to be processed with less trimming. The drum is 18” wide by 24” diameter and offers two full knife pockets with two knives per pocket. The difference compared to other chippers in the TAC range is that is has a directional forestry discharge chute, allowing for maximum throwing velocity.
Phoenix Trommel 900. Compact in size and hard working in output, the Phoenix 900 is easily transportable and possesses a versatile screening system. It can be used in a wide range of applications, including soil, woodchip, compost, sand, rubble C & D waste, household waste and skip waste.
TSL 220 Skid Steer Loader: Key product features include a hydraulic reversing fan for optimum cooling and reduced engine HP draw, tipping load of 8,600 lbs., pilot-operated joystick controls, adjustable loader speed and sensitivity. The advance undercarriage includes multi-level suspension for exception traction and operator comfort. The two speed hydrostatic drive system offers fast travel and high torque work speed.

Hidden Treasures at TCI EXPO 2013
Collectable "Bitty Bandits"
Bandit Industries is showcasing an extremely unique item at TCI EXPO 2013 – their Lego “Bitty Bandits” collection! The history behind this intriguing collectible is pretty simple; Bandit Industries’ senior graphic designer, Kim Patishnock, happens to be a Lego enthusiast, and one evening felt inspired to build a small chipper loosely modeled after a Bandit drum-style chipper. She brought it into the office, the word spread, and Bandit posted it to their Facebook page, where it went viral!
“Everybody wanted one, from customers and fans young and old to many of the managers here at Bandit,” said Christopher Smith, Bandit’s Marketing and Communications Director. “Bandit co-owner Dianne Morey even has one. With such demand, we ordered up more bricks, Kim designed a special box with instructions, and the rest is history.”
This year, Bandit is giving away one Bitty Bandit every hour at TCI EXPO! Convention attendees simply need to fill out a brief survey in the Bandit booth (#833) to qualify for the drawing. Bandit will draw a name every hour and write it on the prize board, so check back often to see if you’ve won! You must present your credentials to retrieve your prize.
The Bitty Bandits will be available in numerous colors, and all come with a special “operator” and detailed instructions. They will be a limited-edition item, just for Bandit’s 30th anniversary – so try to win one at TCI EXPO before they’re gone!
