In an effort to directly engage our member companies and the tree care community, TCIA hired several Regional Outreach Coordinators (ROCs) this year. These organizers, who are veterans of the tree care industry, are stationed across the country to help facilitate connections and increase participation in TCIA programs.

Americorps, a non-profit organization currently serving in New Jersey for Hurricane Sandy relief, is looking for trained arborists to help restore public and private areas in Monmouth County.
Private homeowners need help with trees that are threatening structures, stump removal and other key issues. Many popular recreation areas like Sandy Hook National Park or Cheesequake State Park are still reporting massive numbers of downed trees, or are still closed because of extreme damage.
In case you haven't heard, the Senate is currently in negotiations over the Agricultural Reform, Food and Jobs Act of 2012 (S. 3240), also known as the Farm Bill. Among the Farm Bill amendments filed is Amendment 2292 from Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) that would eliminate the Urban and Community Forestry Program.
