L1 Precision Tree Felling, Chain Saw Handling, Safety and Handling:September 22-23, 2014
2-Day Module - No pre-requisites
The participants will be educated in the most effective tree felling techniques; and learn a simple, systematic method to plan the operation and skillfully work the plan. A practical understanding of leverage, mechanical advantage, and ergonomics, as they relate to precision felling and chainsaw handling, will be taught, demonstrated, and Practiced. Participants will be trained in practical exercises to develop skills and measure their progress and results. This course will teach how up to date knowledge, planning, skill development, will increase safety, skill and productivity.
L1 Tree Climbing Methods, Work Positioning and Best Practice:September 24-26, 2014
3-Day Module - No pre-requisites
The participants will be educated and trained in modern tree climbing systems; and learn about the tools and techniques that make tree climbing and work positioning safer, easier, and more efficient. Basic concepts of physics and mechanical advantage will be introduced as they relate to climbing systems. This course will also introduce participants to work positioning best practice with hand saws & chain saws emphasizing safety, skill and productivity; through both theoretical and practical learning activities.
