Overview
Join us for a day-long seminar that will explore the history and process of valuing and appraising trees. The process of assigning a value to a tree has changed dramatically over the past several years. We will approach the new methods being developed and describe the issues involved in the process. A segment with attorney Frederick Fletcher on the legal issues that must be considered when doing tree appraisal will be included. There will be classroom and in-the-field appraisal exercises, so bring a calculator. Our instructor is David Hucker, Registered Consulting Arborist #388. Mr. Hucker has over 35 years of experience as an arborist in southeastern Pennsylvania and was past president and chairman of the board for Historic Bartram’s Garden. He is a TCIA member and a member of the Council of Tree and Landscape Appraisers. Fredrick Fletcher is a practicing Philadelphia attorney with an interest in arboricultural issues. His practice involves tree damage litigation and appraisal matters. His legal perspective will be instructive for any consulting arborist. He is a past president of the board of directors at Jenkins Arboretum and a trustee emeritus.
This course carries 5.5 CEUs for ISA certified arborists.
Fee: $135 (includes lunch)
