The U.S. Forest Service’s Pacific Northwest Research Station announced the selection of Bernard (Bernie) Parresol as its new Assistant Station Director (ASD) for Research. Parresol, who will be based at the station’s headquarters in Portland, Ore., reports for work on September 4.
“I’m very pleased to welcome Bernie to the Pacific Northwest Research Station,” said Station Director Bov Eav. “His depth of background and the quality of research that he has conducted throughout his career make him an excellent fit for this key leadership position.”
As ASD for Research, Parresol will serve as the station’s overall science coordinator, responsible for ensuring that the station’s goals and strategies are implemented and that its research meets quality standards. He also will be working to maintain productive relationships with a variety of key stakeholders.
