TCIA is proud to welcome Arborjet as a first-year PACT Root partner for 2014.
Arborjet was designed by arborists for arborists in order to effectively manage and control the many exotic and native insect pests and diseases threatening our natural and urban forest today. Arborjet's first prototype was a modification of the needleless medical injection device used post World War II for mass inoculation. With spraying and soil drenching becoming more and more controversial, injection's time has come.
Arborjet is one of the few private enterprises in the world committed to the research and development of target specific treatment formulations designed exclusively for trunk injection. Arborjet has its own fully staffed laboratory and field research team tirelessly devoted to the discovery and development of formulations that are the most effective available.
"Arborjet is proud to highlight our commitment to the tree care industry by partnering with TCIA's PACT program," says Russ Davis, President and COO of Arborjet.
PACT is a strategic partnership between TCIA and industry companies who are invested in the future of the tree care industry. Their support of TCIA helps the growth and development of the entire industry, making it possible for a more profitable and safe industry.
Arborjet makes it easier than ever to keep palms and trees healthy with the new Arbor-OTC. It delivers an antibiotic punch via trunk injection into the tree's xylem, where it is taken up by the vascular system and distributed throughout the plant to suppress disease-causing bacteria - a more effective and environmentally responsible delivery method than spraying.
Arbor-OTC is a water-soluble injectable systemic antibiotic for the annual suppression of bacterial disease in non-food-bearing trees and palms. Bacteria can undergo exponential growth, meaning that their populations can double several times daily, depending on the bacterial species and environmental conditions. If not addressed, bacterial disease can spread rapidly and cause the decline and death of a tree.
"Bacterial diseases are notoriously difficult to manage, and existing products are a hassle to use," says Davis. "This is why we are so excited to offer Arbor-OTC, a shelf-stable water-soluble powder that allows the applicator to mix and go without worrying about refrigeration or expiration dates."
