TCIA member and PACT partner Bandit Industries, Inc.recently provided a customer with a special stump grinder: A Virgina Beach tree care company is now the proud owner of a one-of-a-kind pink Bandit Model 2890 stump grinder.
For over twenty years, pink has been recognized as the color for breast cancer awareness, and five years ago, the tree care company owner's wife was diagnosed with the disease. It was after this diagnosis that the owner sought to show his support of her through a uniquely-colored hallmark of his trade.
Hearing this story, Bandit wanted to do more for breast cancer awareness. On August 22, 2012, Bandit's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Jake Crum entered the UNOH 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway. For this race, Crum was seen driving in a special, "Pink Edition" 01 Banditchippers.com Chevy Silverado. Bandit also teamed up with a Michigan restaurant to hold a special watch party for Jake during the race. The restaurant donated five percent of the profits from the evening to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, with Bandit matching the donation dollar-for-dollar.
