TCIA Board member Phillip E. Chambers was appointed chief executive officer for The Townsend Corporation effective January 1, 2013. Chambers joined the company in 2007, leading daily operations as president and chief operating officer for the past five years.

During Chambers’ tenure, the compay has enhanced its corporate structure to better focus on safety, customer service, profitability and growth. The company has grown its business relationships with current clients and its customer base through an emphasis on delivering customer centric solutions based on client need. Chambers has emphasized employee development and a climate of teamwork while preserving the Townsend family culture that has endured for more than 65 years. Gary Townsend will continue in his capacity as the company’s executive chairman.
