Remembering Jeremy Tibbets
It is with great sadness that the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) reports Jeremy Tibbets, 37, of Concord, California, CEO of A Plus Tree, Inc, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2017 of a heart attack.
A Board Certified Master Arborist and Tree Risk Assessor, Tibbets founded A Plus Tree, Inc, a 13-year TCIA member company, in 2002 with the intention of being the first result for consumers looking for tree care services in the yellow pages. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Tibbets started designing an emergency software program for trees. Over the years, A Plus evolved to leverage technology to improve tree care and maximize urban recycling. A Plus serves clients from Seattle, Washington to southern California.
Tibbets was an active member of TCIA, having earned his Certified Treecare Safety Professional (CTSP) credential in 2007, earned TCIA Accreditation for A Plus in July 2010, and attended many TCI EXPOs and Winter Management Conferences.
In addition to his certifications and memberships, Tibbets was committed to community service, volunteering to educate the public about trees and donating time and resources to beautify the communities in which A Plus worked. Tibbets also served on the board of the California Arborist Association for six years, from 2006 to 2012, serving as president the last two.
He is survived by his wife, their four children and his parents.
