Title: A300 Tree Care Standards Workshop

Description:
Proper care and maintenance of trees, from planting onward, will assure long-term health and minimize interference with infrastructure.

This workshop will review how A300 standards are used for:

  • Writing specifications for all aspects of tree work
  • Development of training materials for employees and volunteers involved with tree care
  • Assure a clear understanding of proper tree care for regulators, governments, and legal authorities.

  • 7:30     Registration opens
  • 8:00     Overview of ANSI A300 Standards, their purpose, development and use - Tim Bushnell, ASC A300 Committee Chair
  • 8:30     Part 1, Pruning - Geoff Kempter (Technical Services Manager, Asplundh Tree Experts) and Wayne Dubin (Bartlett Tree Experts)
  • 9:00     Part 2, Soils - Dr. Richard Rathjens (Urban Forester and Senior Agronomist, Davey Tree Experts)
  • 9:30     Break with Attendees and Speakers
  • 9:45     Part 6, Planting and Transplanting - Rich Hauer (Professor of Urban Forestry, University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point)
  • 10:15   Part 9, Tree Risk Assessment - Dr. Tom Smiley (Plant Physiologist and Soil Scientist, Bartlett Tree Research Lab)
  • 10:45   Practical applications, writing work specifications using A300 Standards - All committee members 
  • 12:15   Wrap Up - Bob Rouse

Earn 4 ISA CEU's and .5 CTSP CEU's for attending.
$35 workshop price includes a free ANSI A300 standard ($20 retail value) and morning coffee
